Lindy Hop
Intermediate: You’re familiar with the basics of Lindy Hop and have taken a few workshops or regular classes.
Intermediate-Advanced: You’re comfortable with the fundamental 8 and 6 count figures from the Intermediate level and can add some variations. You’re also starting to explore improvisation within the music and can dance to a range of tempos, both slow and fast.
Advanced: You’re at ease with everything from the previous levels and have a deeper understanding of the music. You can improvise with key moves, paying attention to both rhythm and visual elements, and you can comfortably dance Lindy Hop to faster tempos.
Advanced Plus: You’ve been dancing Lindy Hop for at least 3 years, and it’s become an important part of your life. You currently teach or have taught Lindy Hop in the past.
Authentic Solo Jazz
Intermediate: You know the basics of solo jazz and have done a few workshops/regular classes.
Advanced: You are comfortable with standard routines such as the Shim-Sham, Big Apple, and Tranky-Doo, and you’re beginning to explore improvisation. You learn quickly and have no trouble remembering new routines. You are open to working on technical elements, including jumps, slides, turns, and complex rhythm.
